The UKP Trails are a small but finely built group of trails in the very south of Germany. Last weekend, to honor the yearly jam, the local guys invited Reverse as well as people from the trails community and from all over Germany and Switzerland to join a fun session and to ride these hand-built lines. And for those of you who were wondering, UKP stands for “unser kleines Paradies”, which means “our little paradise.” If you’ve ever seen the place, you won’t have any doubts about the name anymore!

https://elisabethbell.com/luyfpnhav A week before the event, things didn’t look very good. Rain was coming down every day and the crews hadn’t finished shaping the lines. That’s why spot boss, Simon Alt, who puts a lot of energy making these awesome trails, didn’t know if the jam would happen in the first place. But thanks to the trail gods, the weather cleared up on Friday, and Simon was able to test the big line for the first time. Everything worked out and the weather report was looking awesome for Saturday.

On Saturday morning, the weather was smiling on us with a bluebird sky and warm temperatures. Around noon all the riders arrived and started a good session of riding, having BBQ and drinking tasty local beers. Gathering around a big fire with guitar music and more beers was the perfect ending to an awesome day.

Meet Simon, the head shaper

Tramadol Online Overnight Mastercard How did you start riding BMX?
My family was always into all different kind of bike sports, big time. So I got a BMX when I was pretty young and since we didn’t have any skateparks back in the days, we started digging our own little trails. Then, I got more into street riding with pegs and all that stuff (laughs). For a few years now I’ve been concentrating on riding trails because this is the kind of bike riding that satisfies me the most.

https://fotballsonen.com/2024/03/07/imr9davu1 How did you come up with the spot, and how long have the UKP trails existed?
The spot has existed for about 20 years, but it was not even close to how it looks now. Back in the day it was more like a small motocross track. Around 10 years ago, a good friend of mine, a fun dude called Jakob, started to build the first real jumps for his bike. That was when the UKP Trails were born! My friends and I heard about the spot and went there a few times to check it out. In the years that followed, we gathered a big crew from the area. The most important thing for us was riding our bikes and having an awesome time together. We spent a lot time riding the local skateparks and streets. The trails were more a place where we went sometimes for a fun session and a barbecue. Back then, Jakob was the only one building and shaping the jumps. Around four years ago, I don´t know what happened, but I wanted to focus more on digging and riding trails. Since that time, I’ve put my whole energy into this spot.

Every free minute I’ve got between my two jobs, building and riding motorcycles, and time with my 3-year-old son.

https://www.worldhumorawards.org/uncategorized/yqe63qf0tes Is it worth it to shovel so much and therefore ride your bike less? Can you describe how it feels to ride trails you built yourself and when they finally work?
It’s definitely worth it! The best thing about having my own spot to dig is that I can be as creative as I wish to. I can build whatever is in my mind and you can´t get that if you only ride skateparks. This year I changed the first jump of the big line, twice. I didn’t know if it was gonna work out or not until the last day before the jam. That´s why I was super nervous all week, but luckily everything worked out just fine.

I do ride skateparks from time to time and I´m also having fun with that. But at the end of the day I enjoy riding trails the most and that´s why I´m focusing on that.

Yeah sure, I am always thinking about what I could build next. But it is a lot of work to shape the existing lines and to maintain everything around the trails.
