Urban riding with Jahouse collective crew

Snow

Being steezy in the streets ain’t easy!

When riders meet the streets

What is there to do on a down day when fog and snow invade the mountains? The answer is easy: gather your homies, grab a few shovels and go down into the streets. About an hour by car from Laax, the village of Davos offers both good slopes and urban spots for every rider. With a crew composed of Tessiner and Frenchies riders, Reverse jumped on the road to spend a few days shooting.

On a snowy weekend in January with almost zero visibility on the slopes, we decided to throw the first street mission of the season. Fully packed, and motivated by the amount of snow that fell over a few days, our final destination was Davos. On our arrival, a cloudy and snowy village full of unridden spots was waiting for us. After a quick stop to pick up the young G-Elio Fumagalli, the first spot was about to get hit.

Right behind our place we found a classical elementary school backyard filled with handrails, stair sets and concrete banks. On the spot, we met up with the Swiss-French crew Jahouse Collective, equipped with bungee, cameras and even a drone! Hyped and excited, the first tires went down. Being steezy in the streets ain’t easy!

During the afternoon, satisfied with the first shots, we built up the second spot. An urban line composed of stairs was set into a concrete segment to slide away. Classy moves from Julien Emch and Elio animated the spot. The most kamikaze-style attempt went to miss Gaia Giacomazzi, who slipped close to death during the first few tries – her head slid straight toward a concrete edge that could have exploded her pretty face into pieces if she didn’t have the reflexes to protect it with her hand. Iron balls! The rest of the day was filled with bungee stunts, laughs and good times.

Only a few days had passed when our homies from the Jahouse collective called – it was time for some more metal-eating! We gathered both teams for another street session on the upper side of Flims city. The cold and the crashes were as present as in Davos but freeskiers stomped some solid tricks down a sidewall. All the guys got pretty stoked on the creative line we built and the afternoon flew by in just a few hours of kebab breaks and concrete riding.

We were happy and full of great shots from our first time in the streets — it was a remarkable day! Both teams, Reverse and Jahouse, were stoked about the collaboration and we are looking forward to shoveling new spots together in the future.
